The project's overall goal is to make Halychyna more attractive for tourists and to create a new safe and comfortable cycling infrastructure.
To promote cycling recreation as such, improve cycling mobility, and promote a healthy lifestyle and outdoor activities, the five communities of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast will:
1) Build and equip a 25.1 km bicycle route across Ivano-Frankivsk, Yamnytsia, and Halych. There will be a bicycle camp and 12 bicycle stops along the route, and bicycle parking sites near the partner communities' administrative centers and educational institutions. The route will be suitable for different fitness levels, types of bicycles and TA groups and can be used for one-day or several-day trips.
2) Hold various events to promote cycling mobility, including activities to raise awareness of cycling mobility, develop a training course and hold a cycling school for primary school children in the subregion, hold an international bike ride VeloHalychyna, and develop two cycling quests Galician Travels;
3) Establish cooperation between the communities of the region and partner towns in Poland to develop tourism and recreation.
As a result of the project, cycling is expected to increase by 30%.
